BURY TRANSPORT MUSEUM – BURY, LANCASHIRE

Project – New Car Park and internal refit
Stone Types – Reclaimed Yorkstone Cobbles
Products – Loaf top and Flat top Sandstone Cobbles

The Challenge – English Heritage instructed the client to replicate the old external and internal hard standing when it was originally built in 1848, this challenge not only required a professional stone company to source the correct material but also find one which had sufficient quantity.

The Solution – Traditional Stone ‘set out’ a sample area of the cobbles at our works and invited the relevant authorities to view the cobbles, this service ensured the clients, architect and contractor had a good indication what the material looked like once laid. Due to our huge stocks and swift service we were able to supply in excess of 400 tons of cleaned and bagged material on time for this project.
